If I must!
As a very proud Mama I hate to say this, but Gabby tends to be a little lazy. She wants things handed to her (my fault) and will only work for it if she knows that I am not going to get it for her. I am working on that so please be patient. It is working out though...it is the reason she has started to "half crawl/half scoot". I am no longer getting things for her. I am making her work for them. Here is a little video of Gabby working to get her keyboard. Enjoy!
Look Ma, No Help!
I think she is pleased with herself. What do you think?
She can stay like that for quite some time plus she cruises around the table now if she wants something.
I'm working on the paci...She really only uses it for bad teething and sleeping now. Most of the day is paci free! Yay Gabby!
Look under the ear in the first photo...some great hockey hair happening huh?

Don't Mess With Me
Gabby was sick of taking pictures. Can you tell?
Messy eater isn't she?
She is sleeping right now - The Doodlebops worked their magic once again.
Oh, and no comments about the hair please Auntie D, no matter how many times I style it, it just flops back over her ears. Maybe when it's a little longer I will be able to do something with it.

Another Fry Please
Gabby had her first french fries tonight - baked and no salt - don't worry! She seemed a little more interested in feeding Ralph though...

Growing Up?
Looks like our little girl is growing up. She actually stayed with Scott and Cora for 3 1/2 hours last night so that John and I could go out to dinner with people from his work. She only started fussing because she was hungry. A girl's gotta eat right?
She is so funny these days. She is trying to say "Ralph" but it comes out as "RA". I know she is trying to say Ralph because she does it whenever she sees him. She and Ralph get along so great.
She is napping well now - at least 2 per day and her nights are getting better as well. For the past few nights she has nursed just 2-3 times during her 10-12 hours of sleep. Fingers crossed! I am enjoying the extra sleep!
She sat up from a lying position today - she was having trouble with that one! She crawled once, but she has figured out that bum scooting is so much quicker! She is also quite the walker - it won't be long before she is doing it without help.
Here are a few more pics and I threw in one of Gabby and Carla that I forgot I had (You said I could Carla! LOL!) In the first pic you can see the hives - it doesn't bother her so no worries! We are still trying to figure out the cause but there aren't very many coming out anymore.

It'll Be O.K.
I've been on panic mode for quite some time now knowing that I have to go back to work. I didn't know how I'd do it given Gabby's clingyness and her (well let's be honest) bad habits. Things are starting to look up though! Her napping is increasing. Today she napped for 1 1/2 hours. WOW! She is still nursing at night, but I sleep with her so that's not a problem. I don't even completely wake up anymore! She also seems to be a little more independent. She went to Amanda's Monday for 3 whole hours and did not cry - in fact, according to reports, she was very happy there! Maybe this will work out after all!
Her hives are going away - We think it was the cream we've been putting in Sam's ears - she is always grabbing him! They also come out right after contact with the dogs. Hopefully they will all be gone soon.
The little sweetie is really trying hard to walk. She also tried to crawl today so maybe she will learn to do that after all. She has bum scooting down to a science though! It gets her to where she's going for now.
At any rate, here is a picture of Gabby with Green Peas up her nose. Ha Ha.

Memory Lane
Remember these pictures? It seems like yesterday really - I can't believe it's been almost 9 months!
So remember me telling you about Gabby's hives? Well they have not gone away yet and today I noticed that she breaks out immediately after nursing. It looks like something in my diet. I have decided to start an elimination diet tomorrow. I basically eat nothing but turkey, squash, potatoes, pears and rice for two weeks or until the hives go away and then I introduce 1 new food every 4 days. If the hives come back, we know what the troublesome food is. It HAS to be something in my diet - we can't think of anything else. Wish us luck with it!

The Cutest Video Ever...Really!
I took this video a few nights ago when Gabby couldn't sleep because she was teething. She was tired but very happy and everything was funny to her!
Bath Time With Gabby
Bath time is becoming much more interesting! Gabby likes a full tub now and lots of bubbles. She even stands up in her bath with a little help from Dad. Needless to say, bath time is also much messier now!
This is a shot of Gabby with her dolphin...
And Daddy's magic hand "making" the bubbles...
Again with the dolphin...she thinks it's tasty!
And here she is getting ready to stand....
Cutie Pie....

Watching T.V
Funny story: I took Gabby downtown with me this morning to run some errands. While we were in the IGA she was calling out "Maam, Maam" trying to get my attention. I was busy looking at the bread so I was ignoring her (but always keeping a hand on her while she was in the cart). Well I guess Miss Gabby didn't like that so she bit me! I'm not kidding, she just bent over and bit me! She had quite the audience too! She thought it was great! Then as I was checking out, I look over to the cart to find Gabby with an Old Dutch Beef Jerky stick crammed into her mouth. She looked at me as if she were saying "You get this, I left my wallet at home!" I did have to buy it since it was full of baby drool!
So anyway, here is a pic of her new TV and DVD player that Grandmama gave her and a pic of her watching it.

I Love My Mama
West Edmonton Mall... Part 2
I still can't believe how much Gabby liked the mall. We knew she loved hotels...but the mall was a surprise. Whenever she was a little cranky or tired, we put her in the stroller or in the sling and strolled the mall and she was happy again! I think she may take after Grandmama...oh dear! I don't think I can afford such a love of shopping Gabby! Here are the last of the pictures but don't worry, I have lots more of different themes waiting to be posted!
Lounging in the hotel. She likes to be in command of the remote...Like father like daughter!
Piggybacking with Dad. This was her favorite way to stroll the mall....

O.K. Mama, if you won't change me I will do it myself!
Oh the hotel is just too much fun...I can't take it....
The fish pond at jungle Jim's...she scared all the fish away...she was a little loud!

West Edmonton Mall...Part 1
We took a two night trip to Edmonton and stayed at the Fantasy land Hotel which is in West Edmonton Mall. Gabby had so much fun! She loved everything! We hated to come home...but of course every good thing must come to an end! I have to post the pictures in two lots...sorry.
Here we thought Gabby liked the dinosaur...apparently not...
Here she is in front of the pirate ship (we had a view of this from our room)...
Here is the first visit with the dinosaur...she really did like it at first!
Here she is in front of our room...she really liked the horse!
